They do not take reservations. No sure if they are open, day after Thanksgiving, you might want to call them.
Sorry, not the owner just a patron. You will have to call the restaurant.
Ok but today is Sunday and it was closed. We found breakfast elsewhere but I was surprised on a popular weekend to find it closed.
Ida Red's is almost always busy for a good reason. They serve what I think is the best breakfast around. I've always gone for their scrambles over the years, and the Athena, Montana, and asparagus scrambles have been my go-to choices for a long time. I have yet to figure out how they make their eggs so fluffy. The only problem I really have with the place is that they don't accept credit cards.
French toast is amazing and the omelets are huge. Fresh squeezed orange juice was really good. Worth the wait!
Best place for breakfast down here in Douglas, Saugatuck . Everything is what you want and ask for. Staff is also amazing!!!
Food was decent and came quickly. Probably nothing you couldn't make at home though. Good service. Restaurant smelled like dog food so I don't know if I'd eat here again
Don’t even need to visit. Just by the replies to these reviews, it’s easy to say that the owners of this place are complete pathetic children. Cant handle any negative criticism without throwing a tantrum.
THE place to go for a great breakfast! Large portions could mean a to-go box. Nice outside eating area. Expect a long wait at peak hours.
Great spot for breakfast. I highly recommend the French toast!
Wonderful breakfast and good service. Table chairs not very comfortable but minor issue.
Awesome brunch spot. California Club was the best club I've ever had. Service was exceptional. I really like the decor. Nice little garden spot out front. We'll definitely come back next time we're out here.
Great little breakfast/lunch joint. Love the scrambles, french toast, grilled cheese, and anything they put on special! Cash only - come prepared!
A great way to start the day. Amazing awesome incredible fantastic food.
A tiny little gem on the end of town that is a must visit every time we are in town! Great food, strong coffee, fresh baked goods, and a friendly staff. Be prepared to wait, as it fills up fast. But Ida Red's is well worth it. I love their french bread, but my wife loves their short stacks and and eggs.
Breakfast on steroids! The crispy bacon, sliced potatoes and basted eggs are among the best I've ever eaten! The staff is professional without being stuffy; our waitress was very engaged and provided coffee and water refills as if psychic and always with a smile. If you're staying in Saugatuck or Douglas your visit won't be complete without a visit to Ida Red's for breakfast!
If you are looking for a good, filling breakfast, then this is where you go. Remember to bring cash as they do NOT accept credit cards.
Deliciously consistent! Definitely worth the wait!
Their French toast and scrambles are amazing! Only been once but will for sure be returning!
Best asparagus scramble I've ever had. Most asparagus, most butter taste and most parmesan cheese. It was simply wonderful.
Great menu. Big portions.
If I could leave less than one star I would. Most of the waitresses were either not wearing masks or not wearing them over their noses. My family nicely asked if they could wear their masks to which the manager responded "if you want us to wear a masks then you need to be wearing yours too". My family had worn our masks until seated and took them off to drink our beverages. Michigan law states that you have to wear your mask UNTIL you are seated at your table, but the waitstaff and cooks should be wearing masks anytime they are serving customers or handling food (which they were not). The manager was incredibly rude telling us that if we wanted to complain we shouldn't be there and so we canceled our order and left. While walking to the car one of the staff came outside yelling at my family calling us "trash" and flipping us off. The service was beyond unprofessional and I'm truly astounded by their treatment of customers and lack of concern for customer safety.
wonderful dining with great food and service.
Friendly people and great food in a very quaint setting. And then you can stroll around Saugatuck!
Cute little place serving homemade breakfast and lunch delectibles. I recommend the cornmeal pancakes. Warm, savory with a touch of heat. Beware though if you are there at a busy time the wait to be seated and the wait for in your food can vary from substantial to "are you kidding?".
I don’t know what they put in their eggs but they are the creamiest fluffy eggs ever. Homemade muffins are fantastic and the fruit is great. And who doesn’t love a spacious booth? Come with cash, they don’t take cards. If there’s a wait it’s worth it.
Always good! Wait is much but worth it! Great time with Frank and Sally!
Hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had the joy of consuming. I had the Denver Scramble and it was fluffy, cheesy deliciousness. Friendly and attentive service (all properly masked) along with the homey atmosphere made the whole experience an absolute delight. Highly, highly recommend! Thanks Uncle!
Excellent Breakfast special. Yummy whole wheat pancakes. Great Coffee. Waitress sure could have been a lot friendlier though.☀️
One of the best places for breakfast
Service was excellent. Nice atmosphere. The food was average at best.
The breakfast food is always amazing. Service is pretty good. Only downside is that they only take cash or checks.
You can count on your food being made from fresh ingredients with integrity in the cooking. 30years I have never been disappointed, consistently perfect culinary food. Thank you, Team Ida Red's
Beautiful cozy place we found in town. Had a really good breakfast at a fair price.
Very good food!! My husband and I both got the ham, green peppers & onion omelet and it was big & delicious. Service was good
If your time is valuable do not eat here. The foods not that great here to have to wait so long for service. Me and my wife were seated within 10 minutes which was great but then our waitress forgot about us. Seriously we are a party of 2 not 10.Our waitress brought us our waters then she turned into cutting up oranges, cleaning tables and started waiting on people that were seated 15 minutes after us. After seeing that we abruptly left and never will go back. We went to the Blue Goose in Fennville and they were packed, we were seated immediately and our delicious food on the table 10 minutes later!!!
Most of the staff either did not wear masks, or wore them below their nose. I witnessed the manager making fresh OJ without a mask and talking loudly with her face directly over the glass that she then served. I spoke to a staff person about my concerns and then the manager came over and told us that we should not complain since we are not wearing our masks while we are eating. We cancelled the rest of our order and quietly left. One of the cooks came out the back and started screaming "TRASH TRASH TRASH" at us as we walked to our car.
Best breakfast in saugatuck ! Love the cuteness and corn cakes are melt in your mouth yum
Great breakfast food in a cozy spot.
Bring cash and be ready to eat after good wait!
Fantastic food. Only reason for 4 stars is the wait staff is always grumpy and not friendly.
Ida Reds Cottage in lovely downtown Saugatuck, MI. is my favorite place to dine. When entering the restaurant the lovely smells of homecooking grabs your attention and it only gets better. On your way to the table you pass by their freshly baked muffin display, which by the way they melt in your mouth. They prepare everything on site with the freshest hand picked ingredients. Breakfast or Lunch I have never been disappointed in my meal. You won't be either.
The best breakfast/lunch in the western Michigan lake shore region! Everything made fresh, using quality ingredients. Extremely affordable too. Don't freak if you have a wait in high season. Stay. It's worth it!
Always consistent delicious quality breakfast.
Love the food here, friendly staff
They endanger customers and staff by not wearing masks.
Beware no one wears masks here. Gross.
Waitresses weren’t wearing masks so my family politely asked if they please could. Then the manager came to our table, yelled at my family and told us to leave or not complain. After leaving, a chef came out from the back, flipped us off and began screaming “TRASH! TRASH!” The staff were so rude and for no reason, I would never come here again.Edit: the owner claims we stole but we were only served our drinks and quickly cancelled our food order after it was placed
They have an assortment of omelettes. From traditional, to curry to Greek. Nice variety. You have to pay cash or check only which isn't up to date. Also their potatoes are cooked but not seasoned which most people like seasoned potatoes.
Great food at reasonable prices. They fill up fast in the morning, and accept cash only.
Great food, friendly service.
Always great food! Best scrambled eggs I've ever had. The whole grain pancakes are wonderful!! Great vibe & staff! They get busy in summer but SO worth the wait!
